DVEX Audio Recorder Privacy Policy

DVEX Audio Recorder Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 17, 2026

DVEX Audio Recorder is a Chrome extension that lets users capture audio from a Chrome browser tab they select, preview it, and save it locally as WAV or WebM audio. This policy describes how the extension handles information.

Audio recording and permissions

Recording begins only when a user initiates it and approves Chrome’s tab-sharing prompt. Users choose the browser tab and must enable sharing of tab audio. Audio from the selected tab is processed locally on the user’s device. The extension does not transmit recorded audio to DVEX servers.

Local storage and recovery

The extension can store the most recently completed recording locally on the user’s device so it can be recovered. Users can preview and download that recording, and use the extension’s Delete recovery copy control to remove its local recovery copy. Downloaded files remain under the user’s control and may need to be deleted separately using their operating system.

Data collection and sharing

DVEX Audio Recorder does not require users to create an account. The extension is designed not to collect or transmit personal information, browsing history, recorded audio, or other user data to DVEX servers. DVEX does not sell recorded audio or personal information or use extension recordings for advertising or creditworthiness decisions. Chrome and websites visited by the user may have their own independent privacy practices.

Retention

The extension retains a local recovery copy of the most recently completed recording until it is deleted or replaced, subject to browser storage behavior. The extension does not retain copies of recordings on DVEX servers.

Changes

If the extension’s data handling changes, this policy will be updated and the Chrome Web Store disclosures revised as necessary.
