DVEX

DVEX Audio Recorder Privacy

Updated October 17, 2026. Applies to DVEX Audio Recorder 1.1.0.

Local audio recording

Capture begins only after you click Record and select a source in Chrome’s sharing dialog. Chrome requests a tab video stream to enable tab audio sharing, but the extension does not encode or save video. It does not request microphone access.

Processing and recovery

Audio recording, preview and WAV/WebM export happen on your device. The extension stores the latest completed recording, chosen filename and save time in local IndexedDB storage. Each completed take replaces the previous recovery copy. Interrupted recordings are not recoverable. Browser storage limits and clearing data can remove recovery copies.

Deletion

Click Delete recovery copy to remove the local saved item. The current recorder tab may retain a preview until closed. Downloaded files remain on your device until you delete them separately. Removing the extension removes its extension storage.

No uploads or tracking

This version has no audio uploads, developer servers, accounts, analytics, ads, affiliate tracking, third-party SDKs, payments or remote code. It does not read your browsing history, cookies, passwords or page content. DVEX does not receive your recordings.

Limited use

Data accessed through browser APIs is used only for recording, preview, recovery and export. It is not sold or used for advertising, profiling or unrelated purposes. DVEX Audio Recorder’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.
